String of bad luck...

The wedding was perfect. Almost perfect. We had a couple emotional hiccups, but otherwise the actual ceremony was exactly as I'd envisioned. We had a lovely dinner. We had cake. We had champagne. We spent the night at a local hotel. We woke up married. It was all just as it should have been.

Then the little snags/curve-balls/bumps-in-the-road came hurling toward us at top speed.

I lost my keys. The whole wad. Electric-lock/keyless entry key to the Mazda, the "analog" key to the Saturn, the house key, the bike-lock key and all those little store discount tags you put on your key-ring. I've looked and called everywhere, they are still lost.

John lost his ring, looking for the keys. Fortunately the ring has since been found.

My mom went into the hospital the day after the wedding and had emergency surgery. She's still there and we're not sure when she will come home.

I screwed up the girl's Peer Mediator t-shirt whilst trying to iron her name onto the back and I know she will be very sad and disappointed.

Now the cat has gone to hospital as well, which is more expensive than taking one of the kids oddly enough.

We've also received criticism from both the groom's brother and ex-wife for failing to inform them in what they consider a timely manner. For this we are not sorry, nor will we defend ourselves.

I think all of this is God's way of letting me know that I'm truly married. I have a life partner that can share the burden. Together we will make lemonade.
